The Biography of Dr. Ray Landers

Dr. Ray Landers is a well known author, administrator, educator, clinician, recording artist and composer. He holds a BM from Sherwood Conservatory of Music, an MM from Northwestern University, and a Doctorate in Music from Indiana University. He is the founder/artistic director of the International Music Festival, now in its 20th year, held annually at Baldwin-Wallace College near Cleveland Ohio. He has taught and performed at music festivals and workshops in over 40 American states and in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Israel, Japan, Russia, and New Zealand. As author and recording artist he has numerous materials published by Warner Brothers and Daniel Press. He is a sanctioned Suzuki Teacher Trainer and a book/film reviewer for the international magazine, "The American Suzuki Journal" and has written articles for other national magazines. Dr. Landers has formally taught at Indiana University, Chicago State University, Westminster Choir College, and Mannes College. He now teaches at the Buxmont Academy in Pennsylvania, special high school for underprivileged youth, and maintains piano studios in Yardley PA, where he lives, Princeton NJ and Montclair NJ near New York City. He has taught many outstanding students who have won local, state, and international prizes and have appeared on numerous local and national TV and radio programs. He is listed in the International Who's Who in Education, Who's Who in Entertainment, and the upcoming Who's Who in America. He is eclectic in his approach, having studied with Shinichi Suzuki, Frances Clark, George Bolet, Ivan Davis, Walter Robert, Guy Duckworth, and taken seminars with Howard Gardner, Edwin Gordon and others. He enjoys the challenge of teaching all levels (including special students) and ages of students and considers music "a necessary luxury for all men."
